A registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with the Government of Karnataka, "Bringing Smiles Foundation" - A Step Toward Humanity - serves the needs of students in government schools and runs job-skills-based programs for young people, women, and people with disabilities, among other specialized needs. Since 2009, Bringing Smiles has provided school supplies to more than 44,150 students, set up 15 "Free Computer Labs," trained women in self-employment, and helped people access the other services they needed to succeed, like English language instruction, additional education, access to childcare, and transportation.
"Bringing Smiles Foundation" - Step towards Humanity - works in the area of children education and focuses on volunteering in rural areas where the majority of the schools exist. The choice to work with students in rural government-run schools follows from evidence of educational attainment in India
